Daddy's Boy

OK- so anyone who knows Carter, knows he is Definitely a Mama's boy! But, on the weekends he's ALL about Dad! So, this past weekend we thought we'd put him to work on a motorcycle that Jase needed some help on. He loved it!
Some of his other favorite things he's learned from his Dad:
"Oh Stinky!" (so watch out if you pass gas- he'll point it out!)
"Oh Nice!" or "Go!" (Yelled randomly anytime a football or basketball game is on)
"Geeze!" (If he's frustrated)
He's also got a pretty mean tackle, and a great touchdown dance!
We're working on his passing game- still needs a little work.
Don't know what we'd do without Daddy!

Christmas

We're well, We're organized, and Carter's asleep- so I have a few minutes to update. I don't know how to put my pictures in the right order- so it starts at the bottom. I'll get it right one of these days.! We had a blast in Utah for Christmas and New Years! Here's a little bit of what we did.

And we went sledding at Midway. OK- Carter and I only lasted about 10 minutes. The littles (Carter and Keaton) couldn't do the big hill- and he really didn't want anything to do with the tube, so we headed back and played at the Cabin while Keaton snuck in a few runs on the big hill. They passed him off as a 3 yr old! Way to go Keaters!
What's not to love about that cute face?

I think he lived in this snowsuit for a few days.

After Christmas- we spent some time at the Cabin in Midway. The kids loved playing in the snow- and there was SOOoooo. much of it! It was great!

Carter and Jase opening up his new Cars. I think we all heard "Cars" repeated over and over until we just couldn't stand it anymore. He loves anything with wheels!

Christmas morning- What can I say? It was pure Christmas Chaos- and we loved every second of it! This is Keaton showing Carter how his new motorcycle works. with all the other boys around Carter had plenty of toys to snatch!

After the Nativity presentations from the kids- they all opened up these cute pillows from Grandma Peela or "Eema" as some of them call her. This is Ellie and Carter enjoying their new pillows. He LOVES Ellie! He still talks about her and loves to look at these pics!

Later Carter got to experience the snow in this sweet snowsuit that Paula got from DI. Thank you DI! We had a tough time finding anything for the snow here in Vegas. And while he looks like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story"- it worked perfect and kept his little bod warm.
Started out Christmas Eve by going to the cemetery to visit Jason's Dad, and baby Michael. Always a tearful experience- but one we wouldn't miss.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone! It feels like we've been out of town for a long time. Carter made it almost a whole 2 weeks without getting Sick! We made it through colds, and strep, and ear infections and just when we thought we were safe- woke up Sunday morning with throw up in the bed! Yuck!

So we have had a fun filled few days trying to get our little sickie better. We had a blast with our family up in Utah and can't wait to tell you all about it... another time once my house is somewhat put back together and my little buddy is Ok.

Hope everyone's Christmas and New Year was fabulous! We've missed our friends here in Vegas and can't wait to get back to our routine.

Snow Update

I just had to put new pictures up. It snowed all day on Monday from 7am until about 4pm. The first post didn't show all the snow we got. Later in the day we thought it would be fun to build a snowman for Carter. WE had fun and Carter was freezing- so we bundled him up and he drank his milk while he watched us build our Las Vegas snowman or "no man" as he calls it.
Then yesterday- we had another few inches fall. There were actually 8" in some parts of the valley! Record breaking snowfall. If only it could happen like this every year!

It's Snowing!!!

We actually woke up to snow this morning!!! What started out as a few tiny snow flakes has now been going for almost 3 hours! We had to seize the opportunity to play in the snow. We started out standing Carter on our grass barefoot, with only a hat on for fear that it wouldn't last 5 minutes-and decided we better put on some more clothes so he could enjoy his first experience with snow all bundled up and warm. He loved it! And Jason even got to come out and play for a minute because he's working from home this week.

All bundled up to play.

barefoot in the grass. He didn't notice at first- but soon started asking for socks! Mean Mom!

Decorating the Tree

These pics aren't the best- but this is our tree! Thanks Adam!

Giving Santa Kisses (making sure something's in the stocking this year!)

Trouble!

Well- I meant to post this about 2 weeks ago. I love Christmas time! And I especially love our beautiful Tree that Adam and Tiff picked out and cut down for us! You guys are the best. It's about 15 feet tall and we can't get enough of it!

A day in the life.

This post is for those of you who actually care about my daily life.(or have nothing better to do at the moment besides actually read this.) I tend to only post on Holidays or trips to Colorado or Utah. During a normal week I just don't think about it and when I do, I actually have blog guilt for not posting more. So, I'm not going to give you every second of my Day-but here are a few of my Love and Hates about daily life at the Sant Home.

Morning Ritual:

Love:

  • Being able to share a bowl of cereal with him.

  • That he can tell us what he wants "Milk, Movie, Cereal"

Hate

  • Having to share anything I eat with him

  • That he's very impatient while waiting for food- although it's getting better.

  • Not being able to watch the News while we eat breakfast. He now demands one of his shows. (wiggles, or "Street" Sesame Street")

Grocery Store:

Love:

  • When Carter picks up a Can of Peas and give it a big huge hug because he loves Peas so much. (He did that today and it was so cute)

  • When he's a good boy and gives me smiles and makes faces at me while we're shopping.

  • That he can actually recognize and say "bananas(nana), Soap (oap), Peas, Corn, Yogurt(go go),and Cereal."

Hate:

  • When he throws the can of Peas that he just gave hugs to. That's a real fun game!

  • Checking out: There's an end cap filled with Cars. He reaches, and stretches, and cries "Car, Car..." over and over, and looks at me with sad eyes as I try to quickly move past them and divert his attention elsewhere- it only gets worse when I'm paying and he's trying to take all the pamphlets out of their spots and throw them all over the floor.

Get a little nervous:

  • In the aisles with banans, juice or Yogurt. Worried he might throw a tantrum when he can't have these favorite things of his. I'm very good at keeping his back to the bananas!

Laundry

Love:

  • When he entertains himself trying to put a peice of clothing on

  • That's pretty much it.

Hate

  • That he wants to get up on the couch where I'm folding all the laundry. He's relentless- he'll repeat himself over and over until I find something better to distract him.

  • That he throws all the clothes off of the couch, so he can have a place to get up and play

  • That he constantly shuts the dryer door as I'm trying to transfer clothes from the washer to dryer.

Well- this is my day- at least today. Most days aren't much different. If you're looking for a little more excitement- so sorry. We love our little life and can't get enough of Carter -most of the time. He can also be whiney and impatient.. but then again, so can I; so I guess I can't blame him.
