Happy New Year Everyone! It feels like we've been out of town for a long time. Carter made it almost a whole 2 weeks without getting Sick! We made it through colds, and strep, and ear infections and just when we thought we were safe- woke up Sunday morning with throw up in the bed! Yuck!
So we have had a fun filled few days trying to get our little sickie better. We had a blast with our family up in Utah and can't wait to tell you all about it... another time once my house is somewhat put back together and my little buddy is Ok.
Hope everyone's Christmas and New Year was fabulous! We've missed our friends here in Vegas and can't wait to get back to our routine.

Snow Update

I just had to put new pictures up. It snowed all day on Monday from 7am until about 4pm. The first post didn't show all the snow we got. Later in the day we thought it would be fun to build a snowman for Carter. WE had fun and Carter was freezing- so we bundled him up and he drank his milk while he watched us build our Las Vegas snowman or "no man" as he calls it.Then yesterday- we had another few inches fall. There were actually 8" in some parts of the valley! Record breaking snowfall. If only it could happen like this every year!

It's Snowing!!!
We actually woke up to snow this morning!!! What started out as a few tiny snow flakes has now been going for almost 3 hours! We had to seize the opportunity to play in the snow. We started out standing Carter on our grass barefoot, with only a hat on for fear that it wouldn't last 5 minutes-and decided we better put on some more clothes so he could enjoy his first experience with snow all bundled up and warm. He loved it! And Jason even got to come out and play for a minute because he's working from home this week.

A day in the life.

This post is for those of you who actually care about my daily life.(or have nothing better to do at the moment besides actually read this.) I tend to only post on Holidays or trips to Colorado or Utah. During a normal week I just don't think about it and when I do, I actually have blog guilt for not posting more. So, I'm not going to give you every second of my Day-but here are a few of my Love and Hates about daily life at the Sant Home.
Morning Ritual:
Love:
- Being able to share a bowl of cereal with him.
- That he can tell us what he wants "Milk, Movie, Cereal"
Hate
- Having to share anything I eat with him
- That he's very impatient while waiting for food- although it's getting better.
- Not being able to watch the News while we eat breakfast. He now demands one of his shows. (wiggles, or "Street" Sesame Street")
Grocery Store:
Love:
- When Carter picks up a Can of Peas and give it a big huge hug because he loves Peas so much. (He did that today and it was so cute)
- When he's a good boy and gives me smiles and makes faces at me while we're shopping.
- That he can actually recognize and say "bananas(nana), Soap (oap), Peas, Corn, Yogurt(go go),and Cereal."
Hate:
- When he throws the can of Peas that he just gave hugs to. That's a real fun game!
- Checking out: There's an end cap filled with Cars. He reaches, and stretches, and cries "Car, Car..." over and over, and looks at me with sad eyes as I try to quickly move past them and divert his attention elsewhere- it only gets worse when I'm paying and he's trying to take all the pamphlets out of their spots and throw them all over the floor.
Get a little nervous:
- In the aisles with banans, juice or Yogurt. Worried he might throw a tantrum when he can't have these favorite things of his. I'm very good at keeping his back to the bananas!
Laundry
Love:
- When he entertains himself trying to put a peice of clothing on
- That's pretty much it.
Hate
- That he wants to get up on the couch where I'm folding all the laundry. He's relentless- he'll repeat himself over and over until I find something better to distract him.
- That he throws all the clothes off of the couch, so he can have a place to get up and play
- That he constantly shuts the dryer door as I'm trying to transfer clothes from the washer to dryer.
Well- this is my day- at least today. Most days aren't much different. If you're looking for a little more excitement- so sorry. We love our little life and can't get enough of Carter -most of the time. He can also be whiney and impatient.. but then again, so can I; so I guess I can't blame him.

Trunk or Treat!
I don't know how it happened, but we seem to be surrounded by BYU fans! Our ward is great- except for their lack of taste when it comes to picking a team for Football season! So Jason decided we should dress up as Utah fans for Trunk or Treat. We showed up with our Fight Song playing and our flag flying. Well- we found out as the night went on- We aren't quite as few in number as we thought. Go Utes! Minus a few glares from the "other" team, and a few people refusing to take our candy (their loss) we had a great time.
Our little spider lasted all of 45 minutes before we had to plop him up on the tail gate and give him a sucker to keep him happy. He was Soo... sticky! But So happy and cute.

Who doesn't love this time of year?! It's my absolute favorite! From cool weather, to pumpkin cookies and Halloween. I love it! It really felt like fall on our latest trip to Colorado.

Hiking up at "Devil's Kitchen" with Josi (my sister in law) and the twins Sydney and Kate
We had to take time for a Photo Shoot- with the fall leaves and everything. This is the tree that I use to bounce on as a little girl- we loved it! And now I get to take Carter there.
Every trip to see Papa includes a campfire and marshmallows!
Carter's favorite new toy is a broom! (not so fun if you're actually trying to sweep- unless you're lucky enough to have 2 brooms handy! ) He had a blast helping Nana.
Taking a walk with Papa.
He loves pumpkins, or "puck" as he calls them. Apparently he thinks he's strong enough to carry one! It was Carter and My first trip to a real pumpkin patch!
