Since I've been home

Well, it's only been 2 days. And.... my husband is missing; I have a kid with a fever of 101, watery eyes, runny nose, and whiny; And I managed to break a bottle of hot pink nail polish all over our tile floor, and onto our wall, and onto my white shorts! Gee- it's good to be home!

San Francisco

A few highlights from our Girls Weekend to San Francisco:

Ran the Golden Gate Bridge! It was a beautiful morning!
Never realized how amazing a bridge can be.

Took Grandma Vi out for her birthday! It was truly a San Francisco experience! Can you guess if that's a man or a woman in the black dress?! Hmmm...

Brittany was such a great hostess! We got to see their house, and have dinner on the last night we were there. Played with the boys and enjoyed some strawberry shortcake.

WE ALSO:

  • Got offered "weed" on our first trip out of the hotel. (don't worry- we said NO)
  • Got taken by a bunch of street performers
  • Shopped until we dropped
  • Ate crepes, donuts, sourdough bread, clam chowder... yummy
  • Rode the trolly
  • Wore out Grandma
  • Missed my boys! It was great to come home!

Fun Times

Well, we've had a busy month:
Went to Salt Lake
Went to a baptism and Wedding in the same day
Hung out with Nana and Pappa Trainor (my parents)
And, Aunts, uncles, and cousins
Carter got spoiled by EVERYONE!
Carter was introduced to icecream (Thanks Nana)
And also introduced to Chocolate cookies with frosting (Thanks Peela)
Played with the dog- loved him!
Grandma Peela (Jason's Mom) drove us home, and spent a few days.
We got to go on a date! Wahoo!
Carter learned how much fun the hose is- when he's not sucking for breath!
Now we're back to normal, a quiet house with laundry to do, and a kid to entertain ( it's way easier when there's 50 people around!)

Shout Out!

So as I was on my jog this morning, I was just thinking about so many people that have inspired Jason and I to start running. I don't know if I'll ever consider myself a "runner." But we have started training for a 10 mile run in Provo, and are up to 4 miles!!! That's more than I've ever run in my life!!! Anyway, it has definitely been a slow start, and as I have heard many people say, it is a Love/Hate relationship! Pretty much I hate it while I'm doing it and love it when I'm done.
Anyway, thanks to all of you, we think of you often and you keep us inspired. Brittany and Chris, Paula, Hailey, Kim and Jill, Mary, Mike, Katie, Jennifer... I know there's more, but that's all I can think of right now. Thanks again! We love getting tips from all you seasoned runners!

Blog Slump

Jason totally made fun of me for taking a picture of our patio "crack". All I could say, is that it's more fun to read a post when there's a picture to go along with it. I have been slackin a little on the pictures, so sorry there's nothing new for today.

Life is good, nothing exciting to report. But then, as my mom always says "no news is good news." So, life goes on as normal around the Sant household. Just the usual... laundry, and picking up toys all day long. Oh ya, and playing with my cute little boy! Carter is so close to crawling. He can definitely get himself around, so I guess it's time to kid proof our house, so he doesn't get electrocuted or something.

I guess that's all, maybe I'll be creative and get something up tommorrow.

Thinking of you Hon!

I was cleaning up my mess today after planting, and thinking to myself "... Jason's going to be so happy that I cleaned up my mess..." And I just had to smile because I knew it wouldn't be up to par with Jason's standards. My idea of cleaning up the patio, is sweeping the dirt off the patio into the rocks. I realize that I miss stuff along the way, and that there are little bits of bark and dirt that get stuck in the cracks and left behind. I figure the wind will either take care of it or make another mess anyway, so I don't worry about it too much.

Most of you who know us, know that we're pretty laid back, not to anal or particular about things. But, get Jason in the yard and the OCD starts to come out. I think one of Jason's favorite hobbies might be cleaning the cement. He LOVES to get the hose out and spray out the cracks. It's not enough to just sweep it off, he chases the dirt until the cracks are clean and the dirt is where it should be. Sometimes I think he's almost done working- and end up standing there for another 20 minutes watching him clean the patio. This past weekend he actually got the VACCUM out! And vaccumed the cracks! I use to give him a hard time about this little quirk, but now it just makes me smile. After all, I DO enjoy a clean patio.

So, if you ever notice the clean patio when you're in our back yard- you have Jason to thank for that! (Thankfully, he doesn't hold me to the same standards!)

Planting Tomatoes

So- I yesterday as I was cleaning my house I realized I hadn't planted tomatoes yet! This is the first year the thought has even occured to me- now that we don't have a dog to plow everything over! And thanks to Lauren's gardening advice I felt a little better equipped to start a garden.

I got Carter ready and headed to home Depot. After and hour of indecision, and $70 later, I left with tomatoes, eggplants, basil, and some honeysuckle for our planter box. I thought I was buying the cheap stuff- but I guess all those 3dollar plants add up!

Carter played while I planted the Garden, and I'm taking pictures now, because I don't know if my plants will make it to the next round of pics! This is my first try at gardening- so hopefully we'll see some fruit.
